AVA - Animals Vanuatu Association
AVA is the first animal charity in Vanuatu to establish its own independent veterinary clinic to conduct surgeries, perform euthanasia, and especially sterilisations to limit domestic pet populations. We provide services in clinic and also arrange for teams to undertake remote clinics to reach areas that lack access to veterinary and animal health services.
Our young organisation was established in December 2023 and by January 2024, we had already set up our physical clinic. We were generously provided with space within the Department of Livestock, Vanuatu Government in which to develop our services.
What was once a derelict building, became a humble community clinic, where people and animals can feel welcome and receive support.
To maintain this service, AVA requires exclusive funding through donations and subsidised treatment fees. Our vision is to develop bespoke education programs to assist local communities and general society in understanding the adverse effects of animal cruelty and advising on best practice animal care.
Over our brief existence, and with the help of local and international donors, we have secured equipment to enable us to perform surgeries in a safe and hygienic manner.
We now have an anaesthetic machine, an xray, steriliser, surgical tables and instruments. As we are not mature enough yet to employ full time veterinary surgeons, we rely on support from our Australian and New Zealand veterinary surgeons to make trips over to our beautiful Vanuatu to help us and our animals.
We provide accommodation for our volunteer vets and supply all the drugs and consumables. Without donations, we are unable to carry out surgeries. Donations of any size are most welcome. Every $50 provides a better life for one animal.

We are a fully independent charity that collaborates with other organisations with similar goals to address the needs of both the animals and the community. We plan to reach more areas outside of Port Vila and its surrounding islands. We would welcome international agencies,
See what we have achieved already!
In the past 18 months, we have hosted 8 volunteer vets, undertaken 5 remote outreaches and helped over 350 animals.
